2nd Grade Parent CogAT Information in English & Spanish

Testing Information and Schedule

We use the CogAt Batteries to help us understand how each child processes information and learns, as well as screening to provide differentiated services through the Academically and Intellectually Gifted Program.  Some students will be recommended to take the IOWA tests based on their CogAt scores.  

The testing window for the CogAt at Weatherstone is March 3 - 25, 2025.  You will receive more detailed information about dates and times from your student's 2nd grade teacher.  Typically, it takes 3-4 weeks for CogAt scores to be returned to the school and sent home to parents.  Scores will be accompanied by an explanation letter, and please feel free to reach out to me at kchristopher@wcpss.net with any questions.

Students who are recommended to take the IOWA will also receive a permission form to sign and return.  The testing window for the IOWAs at Weatherstone is April 23 - 29, 2025.  Scores will be sent home as soon as we receive them, also with an explanatory letter, and we will begin the process of AIG data collection.
