Our WCPSS STEM Schools would like to invite you and/or your colleagues to join in our efforts to make learning more relevant and engaging by connecting students with STEM experts like you! The student-centered programs and curriculum of this network of schools are designed to stimulate inquiry by aligning with students' inherent curiosities. Through this approach, we foster essential problem-solving skills that equip learners to thrive in our dynamic world.
Our aim is to provide our students with insights into diverse STEM career pathways and opportunities to interact with accomplished professionals like yourself. Given your expertise and experience, we believe you would make a valuable contribution to our programs.
If you are interested in being an expert guest, please take a moment to complete this brief survey (https://forms.gle/HMjKfpb5ykAyQmia6). This will help us understand your availability and preferences.
Thank you for considering this invitation. We look forward to the possibility of collaborating with you and inspiring our students with your valuable insights.
If you have questions, please contact Joshua Hunter (jhunter@wcpss.net) or Paul Domenico (pdomenico@wcpss.net).

Meet The IT Expert: Students hear from Computer Science experts and participate in programming activities with professionals from companies like Microsoft, Apple, and SAS.
How does this experience connect to and align with my curriculum?
What supporting pre-teaching experiences need to happen prior to the experience?
What supporting post-teaching experiences need to happen after the experience?
What are student behavioral expectations/considerations that need to be considered (i.e. collaborative grouping, PPE, etc.)
What kinds of communications with business partners need to happen before the experience?
Share instructional best practices to with business partners when working to plan experiences.
Be explicit about what the curriculum connections are and what the main objective(s) for the experience are. Remember, the business partner is not the career expert.
