2021-2022 Expected Outcomes

A strong school library program provides open, flexible access to resources and programming in both the physical and digital library space.

The Underwood Media Center will focus on creating a flexible space that feels safe and welcoming for all students and staff. This objective aligns with our School Improvement Plan A4.06 ALL teachers are attentive to students' emotional states, guide students in managing their emotions, and arrange for supports and interventions when necessary.

Expected Outcome 1

Flexible usage of space and resources which will include a focus on:

Multiple learning spaces to facilitate multiple activities at the same time.
Flexible use of space and furniture
Initiatives and advertisement for staff and students to understand and utilize the space and resources
Connection to the School Improvement plan through Second Step and Conscious Discipline resources

Expected Outcome 2

Space supports student independence and eliminates barriers:

Self circulation
Useful and enhanced signage
Clear routines and procedures
Options to sign up for a Library or Learning Lab activity for staff/students
Open safe place option with a teacher pass
Book displays that support school-wide initiatives and monthly themes
