From recorder practice to documents and school-to-home communications, check here for additional practice and classroom extension activities. If you'd like to donate an extra recorder, please send to your child's teacher and it will be given to a child in need.
Please label the recorder bag with the student's name and keep the recorder at home until we start the recorder unit- probably after January.
Learning to play the recorder is an important and fun part of the music curriculum for upper grade students. The recorder is an instrument that your child will be learning to play this year during music class. The recorder is considered a practice instrument should your child choose to play a wind instrument in middle school band. Learning to play a recorder helps students to actively read music! A child who owns their own recorder tends to take pride in learning to play the instrument and in learning to care for it properly.
