Submit a transcript
In State Colleges (not on Common App)-Login to www.cfnc.org to request a transcript for free.
Out of State Colleges (not on Common App)-Request a transcript through www.wcpss.net/transcripts. The first three out-of- state and/or scholarship transcripts are free. There is a $5 charge for each additional transcript.
Common Application-Link your caseload counselor in and they will upload your transcript to all schools on the Common App. Be sure to submit the correct contact information of your counselor.
**Helpful Tips: You will receive an unofficial copy of your transcript. Save this and use it when appropriate to save on the number of transcripts that you need to request through WCPSS. Students must request midyear reports in January if they are required by the college or university.
If you are applying to out-of-state colleges/universities, visit that school's website ADMISSIONS department to find out how to apply.
HOW DO YOU PAY FOR COLLEGE?!?
Many students will apply for loans, grants, scholarships, and/or work study through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Loans: The most common type of financial aid, and the type that you will have to pay back. The good news is that you do not have to start paying them back until after you graduate college!
Grants/Scholarships: Some scholarships are based off financial need, and colleges will need your FAFSA information to determine if you qualify. Grants are also based off of financial need. You do not have to pay back either of these two forms of financial aid.
Work Study: You can qualify for a job through your college - usually right on campus - and earn money to help you pay your tuition.
