Come to school! Attendance is crucial to your high school success as you cannot learn if you are not here. Make sure you are getting plenty of rest and making it to school on time.
Complete ALL of your work in a timely manner. Improve your study habits, time management and organizational skills.
Learn healthy ways to manage stress.
ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! Ask questions often. Start with your teacher. Your teacher doesn't know how to help if you don't let them know you are struggling. If you need help asking for help, see your school counselor.
Get involved! We have numerous clubs, activities, and sports to help enhance your high school experience at SGHS.
Don't compare your academic strengths or weaknesses to your classmates.
Don't fall behind. It's really easy to drop your GPA, and very difficult to raise it back up.
Meet with your school counselor at least once this year to discuss your grades and 4-year plan.
Start exploring post-secondary options. Use THIS CHECKLIST from College Board to start preparing for college.
