I earned my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Ed from Kean University (NJ) in 2010. After being a teacher for 2 years in NJ, I realized I had a love for children with special needs, so I decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in Autism. I obtained my Graduate Autism Certification from ECU in 2013.
In my 14 years of teaching, I taught 2nd grade and Pre-K. I mainly worked with Preschool children with special needs. Even though most of my teaching has been in the special education field, a piece of my heart has missed teaching regular ed children. I am looking forward to a wonderful year teaching your children to learn and grow.
I believe all children are their own unique selves and bring so much joy to learning. I believe as teachers we should allow children the opportunities to learn in an environment that is filled with team work, collaboration, hands on learning, problem solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning.
As a teacher I believe creating a school family is important as it helps builds trust, self-esteem, and builds upon social-emotional learning.
