A homework packet will be sent home in your child's green folder each week. The packet will be sent home on Monday and is due Friday. The packet includes reading, math, and spelling practice. The weekly spelling words included in your child's packet will be the words on their weekly Letterland assessments. Please make sure your child completes their homework each week. If your child does not understand a concept, I am happy to help them with it during our morning work time when they arrive at school.
At Adams, we SOAR! All students are expected
to follow our soar expectations.
S: Show Respect
0: Order and Safety
A: Awesome Attitude
R: Responsibility
Students will be reminded of these expectations daily!
I will use a behavior chart in my classroom this school year. The behavior chart has 5 different colors (explained below). All students start on green each day. When students show positive behavior in the classroom, they will move their clip up on the chart. If a child is not following classroom expectations, their clips will be moved down on the chart. Your child will have an aviator behavior sheet in their green folder that I will color daily to communicate their behavior with you. Please sign their behavior sheet each day and return in their green folder.
Please see the explanation of the behavior chart colors below!
Pink: Outstanding Behavior
Blue: Great Behavior
Green: Student needed a few expectation reminders throughout the day.
Yellow: Behavior needs improvement
Orange: Parent Contact
Parent-Teacher communication is extremely important to ensure a successful school year. I will primarily be communicating classroom information through TalkingPoints and monthly newsletters that will be sent home in your child's daily folder. Please make sure you are checking your child's folder daily. The best way to contact me will be through TalkingPoints and email. Please download TalkingPoints and allow notifications so you receive all important messages and announcements this school year!
