Quarter 3: At a Glance


  • Represent and solve addition and subtraction problems within 100

  • Demonstrate understanding of word problem types including Unknown start, and comparison (bigger and smaller unknown)

  • Addition and subtraction within 1000 using multiple strategies using models, drawings, place value, and properties of operations

  • Understanding different units of measurement including inches, feet, yards, centimeters and meters.

  • Comparing units of measurement.

  • Organizing and representing data collection and analyzing data.

Our 3rd EL Module will focus on the secret world of pollination. Students will learn about plants and pollination:

  • How do plants grow and survive?

  • How do pollinators help plants grow and survive?

  • How do we get the plants and vegetables that we enjoy?

  • The steps of pollination.

This quarter in science we will focus on weather! We will understand the relationship between sun and earth. Students will summarize current weather conditions by collecting weather data including temperature, wind direction and speed, and precipitation. Students will also learn about the work of meteorologists and identify the tools that are used for observing, recording, and predicting weather.



Our theme this quarter in social studies will be the “Development of culture in the United States”. Students will recognize the various values and beliefs of diverse cultures that have shaped the American identity. We will also learn about the contributions of cultures in the United States.
