This is a "cheat sheet" that our MTAC created with common questions our teachers might ask. It includes screenshots of the pathways teachers can take to find their answers, as well as sample statements they can include in family communications to ensure they are maintaining their students' data privacy. The cheat sheet is housed in our Google Shared Drive; all staff can access this document at any time
This slideshow is a pear deck presentation that was shared with all Oak Grove staff during our "kick off the new school year" meeting on July 3, 2019. The presentation consisted of common data and privacy topics that teachers could possibly run into throughout the year. Staff participated in answering questions about the situations to show their understanding.
All teachers participated in a data & privacy breakout where they needed to use the tools given to them in the pear deck presentation and apply their knowledge of data & privacy to unlock their way to a jeans coupon! Clues required teachers to have knowledge of Office 365, Personally Identifiable Information, the Digital Resource Product Library, and the Rapid Identity Profiles in WakeID. All 8 groups successfully broke out.
This work sample shows a student's thinking as he worked through a digital citizenship hyperdoc. The hyperdoc hooked students with a video on being a digital superhero. The following videos and questions taught students what digital superhero behavior entails. Students were then asked to create a digital superhero based on their new knowledge of internet safety and to specify their digital ¨super powers.¨ To show mastery, after their superhero has been created, students created their own Super Digital Citizenship Comic.
These directions for a Google Drawing activity include a link to pixabay. After we discussed copyright images with students, they were asked to use this royalty free image library to source pictures for their project. A student work sample is below.
