MUSIC NEWS
We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with our October song “El Manisero”. It is the most famous song composed by a Cuban musician. “El Manisero” is about a street vendor announcing peanuts for sale. We are having fun dancing, singing, and playing instruments along. Our October composer is Edvard Grieg, a Norwegian composer. We are learning about tempo and listening to his “In the Hall of the Mountain King”.
Owl Chorus is off to an OWLsome start! We are performing at the PTA Fall Festival on November 7th and have Winter Concerts planned for December. We hope you can come out and support our singers at these upcoming events!
4th grade students are beginning our study of the recorder, that BELOVED woodwind instrument we all know from our elementary school days. Be on the lookout for more information about our recorder unit in the coming weeks.
5th grade classes are beginning our study of the guitar. It is always exciting to hold and strum for the first time in class! Information about our guitar unit will be sent home in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your support of music at Oakview!
Musically,
