Our November song is “The Long Leaf Pine”. The words of the song are NC’s official state toast which began as a poem written by Raleigh resident Leonora Martin. Later the poem was turned into a song. We are enjoying singing the song as we learn its history and about other symbols of our great state. Our composer is Johann Strauss, Jr., an Austrian born composer who lived from 1825 to 1899. He composed more than 500 waltzes, polkas, marches, and other pieces and became known as the “Waltz King”.
Our Owl Chorus will present a Winter Concert on the Oakview stage on December 3rd at 5:15pm in conjunction with the PTA Winter Workshop Event. We hope you can join us for our first performance of the year!
Musically,
