How can I support my 6th grader in Exploring Art?

Encourage your student to share their artwork and talk about their creative process. Ask questions like:

Take time to look at their projects and celebrate their efforts. Support practice at home by providing space, time, and materials for drawing, painting, or other creative activities. You can also create art alongside your student—painting, drawing, or crafting together can be a fun way to explore creativity and share ideas. Encourage visits to museums, galleries, or local art exhibits to see different styles and techniques. Show interest in their sketches, journals, or reflections, helping your student think about their own work and the work of other artists.
