These are school-wide expectations for Adams Elementary. All staff use this language with students.
It is my strategy to be pro-active when it comes to behavior concerns. I communicate with parents regularly. If you have any concerns, please email me directly.
Adams Elementary is a PBIS school. Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. With PBIS, we teach kids about behavior, just as we teach about other subjects like reading or math. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.
I use ClassDojo to support positive behavior in and outside of the classroom.
Parents must check emails from me.
Parents must read the Weekly Newsletters.
Parents may not complete a child's work for them. If your child is struggling, offer emotional support (i.e. "Try again" "Have your thought about...?" "What's another way we can solve this?").
Parents must reach out to me by phone or email to have questions or concerns addressed.
