LUNCH

We will eat lunch at 10:30am each day. There will be a charge for  Breakfast & lunch  this year.  Breakfast will be $2.00 and Lunch will be $3.75. Please place any money that you send to school in a sealed envelope or Ziploc in your child's blue "boomerang" folder with your child's name.   The children are responsible for keeping up with their money until lunch, so most parents find that it’s best to deposit money in their child’s lunch account by sending in a check or by using myschoolbucks.com.  I prefer the children only buy a special snack, such as ice cream, on Fridays.  We are trying to encourage healthy eating habits and we only have 30 minutes to eat lunch & clean up.    At this time, visitors are not permitted in the building for lunch but once these restrictions are lifted, please keep the following in mind:

· Please meet us in the hallway outside the cafeteria.

· Please have your child sit in his/her own seat instead of holding them in your lap.  This encourages independence, which is an important part of kindergarten.

· Please say goodbye in the hallway outside the cafeteria.  It’s very difficult for them to let you leave if you walk back to our classroom.

Snack

Please send in a healthy snack for your child every day.  Since part of kindergarten curriculum is learning to make healthy choices, we encourage you not to send sugary drinks like juice or soda.  Instead, please send in a water bottle with your child.   It is important that you do not pack your child’s snack in their lunchbox.  We are trying to make sure they don’t accidentally eat their snack during lunch.  Please communicate with your child each morning so that he or she knows whether to buy a lunch at school or eat a lunch you packed from home. We can always use  extra  donated Snacks just incase someone forgets.
