About Mrs. Dyer

A little bit about me...

I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, with my parents and six brothers and sisters. After graduating from the University of Missouri in Columbia (go Tigers!), I moved with my husband to Athens, Ohio. During the six years that we lived in Ohio, we had our daughter, Meaghan, and twin sons, Kevin and Nathan. Following a few more years back in St. Louis, our family lived in Augusta, Georgia, for ten years before we moved to North Carolina in 2008.

I taught at Salem Middle School for two years until I moved to Mills Park Middle when it opened in 2010. I taught 8th grade Social Studies until last year when I joined the Mills Park CTE Team!

My husband is a chemical engineer consultant, and all three of our children live and work in the Raleigh area. Meaghan is a fifth grade teacher at Mills Park Elementary, Kevin is a computer software engineer at Fidelity Investments, and Nathan is a mechanical engineer for Altec. My son, Nathan, married his high school sweetheart, Abby, who is a fourth grade teacher at Alston Ridge Elementary, and Kevin is getting married to Lindsay, a Nurse Practitioner, on October 1. This past May, Meaghan and her husband, Blake, along with the entire family, celebrated the fourth birthday of our grandchild, Sophie Grace, and in March, our second grandchild, Winnie, was born!.

I have a five year old dog, Luna, and when I'm not in school or doing school work, I enjoy spending time with my family, my friends, and my fur baby. I love a good book; I watch a LOT of movies, and I may be the world's biggest Chick Fil A fan!
