Reading: This week the students will choose a frog to become an expert on. They will read informational texts to collect research about their frogs. We will also be studying holidays celebrated around the world with research and fun, interactive activities.
Writing: They will be writing an informational paragraph on the freaky adaptations of a frog they have become an expert on. Then the students will use their information to create a freaky frog trading card.
Math: This week's multiplication focus is on solving multi-step story problems using multiplication and division. We will also learn to multiply one-digit factors by facts of 10. Due to the weather, we will continue this unit in third quarter.
Social Studies: Our economics focus this week is on needs & wants, supply & demand, and entrepreneurship.

Social Studies: Our economics unit got pushed back a bit. This week we will begin to study economics by learning what is economics, goods & services, producers & consumers, needs & wants, and supply & demand.

Math: This week's multiplication focus is on fact fluency with 9s, 0s, and 1s! We will also begin solving multi-step word problems using multiplication and mixed operations.
Science and Social Studies: We will continue to study force and motion with a focus on speed. The student will take their assessment on Wednesday. Then we will begin a social studies unit on economics. This week's focus will be on learning what economics is and goods & services.

Math: This week's multiplication focus is on solving story problems with facts of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 as well as fact fluency of 7s.

Writing: Students will be showing what they have learned in reading, by writing their own pourquoi tales. We will be publishing these into a class book that will be available for purchase! More details coming soon.
Math: Our addition and subtraction test will be on Monday. Wednesday we begin a unit on multiplication fluency that will take us through the end of the quarter.
