Happy Holidays! Our young meteorologists made it to a well-deserved break. When we return, we will spend the week reviewing for my final exam which will be Wednesday afternoon, Jan 12th. If your child is a senior with a 'C' or better, they can choose to not take my final. This will not hurt their grade.
Best wishes and see you in 2 weeks.

Hello Weather Families. This week we've worked on a tornado research project. Ask your child about their NC tornado. They all did a great job! During next week's short 2 days, I will show them the movie Twister from 1996. Here is a link to a Parent's guide. If you do not want your child to watch it just let me know and I will excuse them. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117998/parentalguide?ref_=tt_stry_pg10/29/21
Hello Meteorologists and Families! we finished our mapping and clouds unit today with a test. Next up is severe weather (is your family hurricane plan up to date?). The students continue to have a good time making weekend forecasts and announcing them to the entire school. Kudos to the Costantinos, Sara, Dominic, Matthew, Hayden, and Oswaldo who did a great job representing our class via the announcements.
As mentioned in the text blast:
WHS will host a virtual parent/teacher conference night on Thursday, November 4,
from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Appointments will be held in ten-minute increments. Please
contact me if you would like to schedule a meeting for this event.

Dear Meteorology families - We are finishing up Unit 2. Students will test on Wednesday. Honors students must turn in all work by then. Interim grade reports are available in PowerSchool. Next unit is all about reading weather maps. Please counsel your child to wear the mask over their noses. Lots of drooping masks.

Thanks to all the parents who I met on Meet the Teacher night. This week we finished our intro unit dealing with layers of the atmosphere and measuring different variables. Be sure to ask your child about the the three different temperature scales. Next week we will begin exploring how the sun's energy drives weather and has an especially powerful effect on water.

Hello Meteorology families! We are currently learning about the tools we need to study the atmosphere, including formulae and mathematics. But the students are doing great at this.
A couple of important policy notes - cell phones are not allowed to be accessed during class, and masks must be worn properly over the nose at all times. Students will face discipline for violating these two policies.
Enjoy the four day weekend, and it looks like weather will be great for it!
