Marketing II is an advanced, hands-on course designed for students who want to take their understanding of marketing and business to the next level. Building on concepts learned in Marketing I, students will explore how businesses develop marketing strategies, understand consumer behavior, create promotional campaigns, manage brands, and use digital and social media to reach target markets.
Students will apply marketing concepts through real-world projects, presentations, simulations, and business-related activities. Topics may include market research, branding, advertising, sales, customer relationship management, digital marketing, social media strategy, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, and marketing analytics.
The course emphasizes learning by doing and encourages students to think like marketing professionals. Students will have opportunities to develop and present their own marketing ideas, analyze real businesses, solve marketing problems, and make decisions based on current market trends and consumer needs.
Marketing II is ideal for students interested in marketing, business, sales, entrepreneurship, advertising, social media, management, or other business-related careers and provides valuable skills that can be applied in both college and the workplace.
Prerequisite: Marketing I
***As students progress through these units, they will also complete portions of their project. So, they learn then apply what they have learned! The project is what is measured by the county/state, not an exam. So, it is VERY important that students do not fall behind on this project. **
Credential
This course also offers a credential if the student passes the exam. A credential is a real certifiacation that can be used for employment in the workforce! Students will complete a series of modules (video's and questions) throughout the year. Once completed, they will take a 100 question exam. If they pass, they will earn the credential and can use it on their resume, for interviews, or college applications. The credential for this course is Business of Retail Specialist
CTSO- A CTSO (Career & Technical Student Organization) is a club offered by the county/school. The associated CTSO for this course is DECA. Enloe proudly offers a well recognized DECA chapter. This CTSO allows students to compete in district, state and national events, complete chapter campaigns, network with other students, and demonstrate essential employability skills such as leadership, critical thinking, team work, communication, organization, and adaptability. For more information about Enloe DECA, please visit https://enloehsdeca.weebly.com/ or reach out to me. I am the DECA advisor!!
Enloe Attendance Plan/Policy
It is our expectation that students will attend class sessions during the designated times indicated on the remote learning schedule. When this is not possible, the student should review the work posted online and reach out to the teacher(s) to clarify instruction and activities. All work in this course is in CANVAS and/or online. This means students should have access and the ability to complete work while away from school.
I DO NOT have access to change your child's attendance after it has been taken for the day. Once it is taken in Infinite Campus, only Ms. Jiles at the front office can make that change. It is VERY IMPORTANT that your child listens to his/her name being called at the beginning of class. I will call the name TWICE and look for a hand, face, or voice. If I do not receive confirmation of any of those, I will say “Going once, going, twice, done”. Sleeping, listening to music, not paying attention are all not satisfactory behaviors while taking attendance.
If a student shows up late for class, a PINK tardy slip from a tardy station or front office slip MUST BE accompanied with that student or they will not be admitted into the class. Tardy’s will also be recorded in Infinite Campus.
Grading Practices/Late Work
Enloe adopted a new grading and late work policy two years ago that ALL staff must abide by. All work is expected to be completed by the date it is assigned. However, in the event it is not, the student has 2 CLASS PERIOD to still turn in work. For example, if an assignment is due on Monday, that student has until Friday to still turn it in with a minimum grade of 50, which is also referred to as the NAA date (Not Accepted After). After that, I have the discretion on how or if I still want to accept work. Also, classwork is done daily and the NAA does not apply to these assignments. Not doing them during class will result in a “0” in Infinite Campus!
Note: Classwork is expected to be done the day it is assigned in class. Choosing not to do it will result in a “0” and is exempt from the late grade policy (meaning you can’t make it up).
Grading Categories and Scale: Major grades 60% (tests and projects), Minor 40%
In terms of homework, there is no homework for this course. All minor assignments are completed daily in class. HOWEVER, if your student isn’t engaged or decides to not complete the work that day, then they will have to get it completed outside of class. We will work on MAJOR assignments in class but they will be required to work on it outside of class as well.
Academic Recovery: Students who do not earn a passing grade in a quarter will be provided the opportunity to improve to at least a passing grade of 60 with the completion of work determined by the teacher and as described on a contract. This usually entails completing ALL MAJOR assignments for that quarter. They will have until the end of the following quarter to complete the academic recovery. If it is not completed, the grade will remain as it was.
