Chorus Uniforms

CONCERT UNIFORMS & FORMAL ATTIRE

All performing groups will have an informal and formal performance uniform. 

Expectations for ALL ensembles: 

• No boots, high heels, sandals, crocs, or slippers. FLAT, BLACK, CLOSED TOE dress shoes only. 

• No cologne, perfume, body spray, etc. should be used in rehearsals or performances. 

• Use proper personal hygiene. Deodorant is a necessity.

• Hair should be neatly styled away from the face for every performance. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Informal Uniforms for all: Chorus t-shirt and jeans (no rips, holes, or tears). The purchase link for Chorus Spiritwear will be provided in the first two weeks of school.

Formal Uniforms 

Apprentice Chorus: Students will be expected to wear long black dress pants or a long black skirt (ankle to floor length) and black closed-toe shoes with a black, collared polo shirt. Long black dresses with shorts sleeves are also acceptable. 

Vocal Ensemble, Treble Chorus & Tenor-Bass Ensemble: All uniforms are rented each school year. There are two options for formal uniforms, including the floor length concert dress or the tux combo (tux pants, black tux shirt, and royal blue tie). Students may opt in to either uniform option. 

Uniform Rentals are $45 for the year. If your student requires a sponsorship, please indicate this on the Google Form. Complete the uniform rental agreement here or by scanning the QR code. 

Uniform Rental Provisions and Disclosures

1. This uniform and all accessories provided are property of the Ligon Magnet Middle School Chorus Department. All items provided by the Ligon Chorus Department must be returned in good condition, without damage or major alteration. The student is responsible for the damage or loss of Ligon Chorus Property.  

2. The student and responsible adults agree to pay a rental fee ($45) for the use of this uniform for the period of 2026-27 school year. This fee is used to pay for repairs, replacement, and additional purchases of uniforms. The fee is non-refundable. Students unable to pay this rental fee, please contact Mrs. Castellano

3. The Ligon Chorus Department will assure that the uniform is in good condition before rental. All parts of the uniform will be checked for hems, seams, snags/tears, discoloration, and zipper closure condition. The condition of the uniform will be noted upon rental in the presence of the student. 

4. The uniform should be returned after the spring concert (May 20), dry cleaned, in the dry cleaner’s plastic with the receipt attached. The school will hold a student’s report card or records if the uniform is not returned and/or the balance of a replacement garment not paid.   

5. Each uniform carries a $95.00 replacement fee if lost or damaged beyond repair.

6. The student is responsible for acquiring black close-toed dress shoes and black dress socks (if necessary) to complete the uniform.   

7.  The Ligon Chorus Department is responsible for any costs that can be attributed to normal wear. This is included in the rental fee. 

8. The student is to contact the Ligon Chorus Department if a repair or exchange is necessary in order to have the exchange carried out as quickly as possible & as conveniently as possible. 

9. In the event that the Ligon Chorus Department finds evidence of misuse or neglect, and refuses to pay the cost of repairs, the student shall be responsible for the costs in their entirety, which may include replacement of part or all of the uniform. 

10. Hemming and altering of the uniform is up to the parent and student as long as the uniform is not damaged.  NO LENGTH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM ANY OF THE UNIFORM PIECES. MAKE YOUR SEAMSTRESS/TAILOR AWARE of this PRIOR to the alteration.
