Welcome!

Lady Little Blues is a holistic counseling small group that focuses on four core values: empowerment, leadership, community service, and mentorship. Students participate in weekly small group counseling sessions that focus on a variety of topics that are specific to 8th grade girls such as peer pressure, healthy relationships/ friendships, self-esteem, hygiene, etc. The holistic nature of this group allows students to apply the skills and tools they gained from sessions which are then connected into leadership, mentorship, and community service opportunities within Ligon and the Raleigh community. This is a group that has proven to promote positive social behaviors, self-esteem, and leadership skills within each student.

What have we been up to this year?

-Serving as Ambassadors and Tour Guides for prospective Magnet families

-Completing Community Service with Communities in Schools of Raleigh

-Making the afternoon announcements

-Planning and assisting with school-wide initiatives (Black History Month activities, Women's History Month, Honor Roll)

-Serving as a mentor to a 6th or 7th grade student

-Partnering with the Women's Center of Raleigh for Women's History Month
