Welcome to our community of school librarians! This page contains resources to help you navigate your role, whether youâre new to the school library profession or just new to WCPSS.Â
We offer professional learning specifically for new school library media coordinators in the form of two courses:Â
WonderWake Foundations for School Library Media Coordinators I (for first-year librarians or those in their first year in WCPSS)
Foundations I Canvas Course (coming soon)
WonderWake Foundations for School Library Media Coordinators II (prerequisite: WonderWake Foundations I)

What do students need?
What do teachers need?
What does your school community need?
âRedesigning the space.
We get it. You want to make the space your own. Before you make any drastic changes, try to live in the library for a year to get a sense of how it needs to be different in order to best serve kids.Â
âDoing a massive clean-out or weeding project.
Give yourself time to figure out what everything is and learn the procedures for disposal of materials.
Be sure to attend these trainings!
