Where do I find a directory of School Library Media Coordinators?
The Library Media Services site maintains a directory of Media Coordinators on the homepage under the Quick Links section.
2. Is there a list of school library substitute teachers?
No, Library Media Services no longer maintains a list of subs. Your Lead Secretary is the best resource for helping you find a substitute.
3. A library book that does NOT belong to my school was returned to my library by mistake. What do I do?
If the book belongs to another WCPSS school, return it to that school via WCPSS courier. Books must be sent through courier in courier envelopes or boxes.
If the book belongs to Wake County Public Library, return it to the WCPL system by sending it through WCPSS courier to Athens Drive HS Media Center.
If the book belongs to another school outside of WCPSS or WCPL, send it to the Library Media Services office and we'll make sure it gets sent to the proper place. Address courier envelopes for these books to: Kendra Allen, Library Media Services, Crossroads II.
4. What supplies should I have on-hand in the media center office? From where should I order them?
5. How do I help students and staff access EBSCO and Britannica resources (formerly found in NCWiseOwl)?
A tip sheet can be found on the homepage of the Library Media Services site under Quick Links.
6. Is a library inventory required yearly?

7. How can I earn literacy credits to renew my license?
School Library Media Coordinators do not need literacy credits for licensure renewal. This information about renewal requirements is posted on the WakeConnect Licensure Renewal page.

8. I am new to WCPSS. What do all of these acronyms mean?
To help, Library Media Services has created an acronym glossary. If you come across an acronym not on this document but which needs explanation, please always reach out to Kendra Allen (kallen2@wcpss.net) and ask.
