TABLE OF CONTENTS:
I create my lessons using Google Docs/hyperdocs. This helps organize my lessons and allows me to Imbed links to videos, urls and other resources for students. The outcome of using hyperdocs for lessons Is that they are beneficial to differentiate for students and It allows students access to all resources. Hyperdocs also allow me to keep my lessons condensed and organized. See the buttons/links below for examples.
I create screencast tutorials and also record my project demonstrations for students. The recordings are resources for students while they are In class, absent from class or learning online. These recordings are helpful for me so that I am not repeating myself over and over. They are also helpful for catching up students who have been absent from class. I Include videos In my hyperdoc lessons and/or In class announcements. See the buttons/links below for examples.
I have co-developed and co-taught a face-to-face workshop and a virtual workshop with Elizabeth Joyce at NCCAT, titled, " Visual Literacy In the Art Classroom." In this workshop we taught teachers from across North Carolina how to use technology and literacy In their art rooms. Although this course was originally developed pre-pandemic It has proved to be beneficial In planning for our classes during the pandemic. Elizabeth addressed the literacy and technology and I address the art and shared how to use the technology In an art classroom.
I have also written, developed and taught my own art courses In both Google Classroom and Canvas for my classes at Wake County Public Schools. I like each LMS. I find that Google Is easiest to use for students and teachers. I find that Canvas has more tools and allows for more variety In posts, lessons, discussions, etc. It also now has a feature where the grades In Canvas can be transferred easily to Powerschools. This Is a timesaver!
See the buttons/links below for examples.
I have created a website for my classes at Holly Springs High School In Wake County Public Schools. This Is helpful for parents of students and for future students to attain Information about art courses at HSHS.
