Over the past two decades I have transitioned from teaching without technology to teaching solely with technology. I have also learned how to teach a hybrid of both. Luckily, I am constantly wanting to learn, absorb and then share what Is new. I am not afraid to try new things and I enjoy discovering creative ways to make presentations and lessons fun. I was not a teacher who panicked about teaching online during the pandemic however, I did wish I had been given more time to prepare for the sudden shift. I suppose that's what teachers do though, we pivot and do whatever necessary to keep on going (especially In a short amount of time)!
I have noticed that my strongest areas are, creativity, organization, technology and curriculum design. I have a passion for art and problem solving. These skills can be used In any subject or in any career. Technology has been a very helpful tool for almost everything but especially with organization. I hope to continue to build on these strengths well Into the next decade or so of my career.
I want to continue learning and Implementing new things. I am naturally curious! Areas I want to Improve upon Involve connecting my students with our community. I want to find more ways to showcase student work In public spaces and teach students how to advocate for themselves as artists. I also want to collaborate with other curriculums and do more cross-curricular projects. I have done only a few of these over the years. I know It Is Important to have goals. In order to reach these particular goals, time-management for planning and research Is necessary. I love a good challenge and look forward to all the problem solving and time management that will go Into making these goals happen!
