Here is a more detailed description of each pillar.
Students invited to be candidates for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) have already met the scholarship pillar and demonstrated a desire to serve their community. The NJHS Faculty Council will evaluate each candidate's profile based on the other four pillars of the society:
1. Scholarship: met if student received invitation to candidacy
2. Leadership: activities that show dependability, responsibility, positivity
3. Citizenship: activities that show respect for school and community standards
4. Service: activities that show positive collaboration with others, cheerful service
5. Character: exemplifies high standards of behavior, honesty and reliability at all times
If your student is not selected but would still like to serve our school, we recommend volunteering for Student Council. They usually meet Thursdays after school.
