National Junior Honor Society

NJHS is a service organization and we focus on service events within the school and in the community. Our meetings include activities to learn about and enhance skills in the 5 pillars of NJHS: scholarship, citizenship, leadership, service, and character. We understand middle school kids are just starting to become aware and experience these qualities, so we do not put so much pressure on them for a large commitment. The NJHS selection process begins in January of the 7th grade year. Student selected will serve during their 8th grade year. See the selection process timeline on the Candidate Information page.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.
