Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events are a great way to get experience outside of the classroom. CDEs/ LDE's help members practice teambuilding, problem-solving skills, and prepare them for future careers. These competitions give them the hands-on experience and opportunities that help them
Committees are another wonderful way to get more involved in Green Level FFA as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills. GLFFA currently offers 2 committees, the Plant Sale Committee and the Outreach Committee.
The Plant Sale Committee works together throughout the year to cultivate the Fall Mum Sale and the Spring Plant Sale. They work hard on growing plants, creating social media posts, and marketing the Plant Sales.
The Outreach Committee is a newer committee, in which students get to create and teach presentations about FFA and agriculture to elementary school students. They also assist in recruiting incoming Freshmen at events such as Open House and Orientation.
Garden cleanups are a great way to help out the chapter during the summer. During our garden cleanups, members get to work together to help prepare the garden beds for the upcoming school year. Tasks may vary from pulling weeds to laying mulch in the beds. Overall, it is a great experience to see fellow members during the summer and get hands on experience!
SAEs or supervised agricultural experiences are ways that FFA members can learn real word employability skills.
There is a variety of types of SAE's including:
Entrepreneurship / Ownership
Placement / Internship
Research & Experimentation
Agricultural Communications / Service Learning

If you are thinking about starting a project, there are plenty of resources available to help you brainstorm ideas. Check out the National FFA Organization to find inspiration or ask Ms. Lewis or Mrs. Landa to help you think of an idea.
