Mrs. Drake

Hi, My name is Johanna Drake. I was born and raised in Vermont.  I went to a small school in VT for my undergrad and earned my masters at Nova Southeastern University.  I have been teaching since 2003 and have taught preschool, 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade!  I've taught in VT, FL, NY and this will be my 8th year here in NC!  I think the primary grades are the best!  I love to watch my students learn, make connections and find their voice in the classroom.  Classroom community is so important to me.  We are a big family!  

Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending my time with my family and friends.  My husband, two boys and I love exploring the Raleigh area, trying new ice cream shops, traveling and playing with our (naughty) dogs, Dakota and Izzy.  When I have time I love to read, go on walks with friends and bake.
