We use the EL Reading curriculum to teach Reading and Language Arts. Students spend one quarter diving deep into texts and completing tasks surrounding the theme.

Fifth Grade math standards focus heavily on Numbers and Operations in Base Ten (NBT) which include: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals and whole numbers. We also dive deep into working with fractions (NF standards) which includes: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and mixed numbers.

Fifth grade is the first year students will take a Science EOG.

Thinking Like a Historian
Pre-Colonialism and Revolution (Indigenous People, European Colonization and the American Revolution)
Developing America (New nation, Westward Expansion Civil War)
Changing Society (Reconstruction, Jim Crow, Immigration, and Civil Rights)
