Mrs. Cathy Traccarella
My name is Cathy Traccarella and I am one of the teachers for English Language Learners here at Morrisville Elementary School.
I live in Cary with my husband and three cats. My son and daughter are out of school and both live nearby. I am originally from Virginia and earned my Elementary Education degree from Virginia Tech. Both of my parents are retired VT professors and my sister and her husband still work there - Go Hokies!
After graduation, I moved to North Carolina and taught in the Chapel Hill / Carrboro City Schools before moving to Wake County. I have been a parent, volunteer, substitute, student teacher, and teacher in Wake County schools. The beginning of my career was spent teaching kindergarten. A few years ago, I took a break from teaching and went back to college at NC State. I earned my ESL certification and then my Masters in Elementary Education, with a focus on supporting English language learners. One of the highlights of my program at NC State was a study abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico. Please reach out to me at ctraccarella@wcpss.net if you have any questions.
