Posing with graduating 3rd year students at Kuki Middle School, 2007
I started teaching at Enloe High School in the 2008-09 school year. I first fell in love with Japan in high school. From my early introductions to Japanese culture through TV and movies, to my first trip to Japan the summer I graduated from high school, to starting Japanese classes at Ohio State, my passion for Japan's language and its culture blossomed, leading me to major in Japanese. I got to experience the Japanese way of life in a one-year exchange at University of Tsukuba and later while teaching English in Japanese elementary and middle schools through the JET Program. Now as a high school Japanese teacher I get to share my passion with the amazing young people in my class. My hope is that every student, whether they dream of living in Japan one day or just want to learn to see life from a new perspective, will find something that sparks their love of learning and teaches them to look at their own lives in a new way.
