What is the purpose of our Book Drive? The purpose of this event is to collect books in order to give every student at East Millbrook an opportunity to take home one book, and not as a loaner, for free for the summer. Essentially a book fair minus the fees. A book they can keep and read in their own time without any fees, fines, or return date.

Reading is fundamental to education, expanding creativity, comprehension, and enhancing critical thinking skills. Books are for EVERYONE. Money should not be a factor regardless of economic status.

When will students receive their books? During the first week of June, students during their ELA class will be brought to the Media Center to receive their book for the summer.

Can I attend even if I don't donate? Donations are NOT required to attend the event, just encouraged and appreciated to help create our schools Free Book Fair. If you're interested in the schools after school literacy program (Book Club), different programs within the community, are a prospective family, or are simply interested in having a good time with food, games, and activities, then join us for a night of literacy and fun!

What to donate: Donations and books are the two sources of fundraising needed to create our Book Fair.

 - Funds donated will be used to buy books.

 - Books donated that are new or in excellent condition and that are grade level appropriate will be used. Any books donated outside of our school's reading age, or that are in less than fair condition will be donated to non-profit reading organizations.
