Online Calculators available in NCTest

Starting in the 2018-19 school year, the NCTest app will have an online calculator available. Physical calculators may still be provided for students, but, please encourage your students to practice with these calculators BEFORE the exam:

NOTE: A lot of students will say they don't have room on their phones to add an app, that's fine. Give them the link(s) below and tell them to add a bookmark or add the calculators to their home screen. Bookmarks (and home screen links) don't take up space on their phones!!

SECOND NOTE: The ONLY way to use the BASIC or SCIENTIFIC calculators below is as a bookmark - the Desmos app is only a graphing calculator.

Four-Function Calculator www.desmos.com/testing/northcarolina/fourfunction
- This is the BASIC calculator that will be used for some CTE State Assessments
Scientific Calculator www.desmos.com/testing/northcarolina/scientific
- This is the SCIENTIFIC / ALGEBRAIC calculator that will be used for some CTE State Assessments and some Science NCFE exams
Graphing Calculator www.desmos.com/testing/northcarolina/graphing
- This is the GRAPHING calculator that will be used for Math NCFEs and EOC exams

The Desmos Graphing Calculator App is also free in the iOS and Android app stores.

NC DPI Testing & Accountability Updates 2018-19

I received a memo from the NCDPI with Testing and Accountability updates for the 18-19 school year - SEE FULL MEMO HERE. While there are many more details in the memo, here are some specific things to keep in mind:

Math scores will be delayed for all EOC exams, and NCExtend1.
- This will impact Math 1 and Math 3 EOC Exams and some SPED exams.
The state will continue to increase the amount of testing that is required to be online.
- We will test all of our final exams online.
- ACT Testing will be online Feb 20
- ACT WorkKeys Testing will be online

WCPSS Testing Calendar 2018-19

WCPSS has published their testing calendar for traditional calendar schools. This calendar lists all of the testing dates. Most of these dates are also posted (or will be once dates have been confirmed) to our KHSCD Staff Events Calendar - http://bit.ly/khscdcal
