Hello! I'm Laura Aldridge, the school library media coordinator for Durant Road Middle School. I graduated from East Carolina University's College of Education and earned my Master's of Library Science from North Carolina Central University. I have taught high school English, worked in Wake County Public Libraries, and served youth through literacy non-profits.
My favorite genres to read are historical fiction, sci-fi, graphic novels, realistic fiction, and sociology non-fiction. I also read a lot of early chapter books and picture books to my children.
As required by Board Policy 2313 / 3013 / 4013, all schools in the Wake County Public School System will implement a yearly plan to educate students on Internet Safety. As a part of that plan, our school will address:

What is MTAC? MTAC is a group consisting of "library stakeholders, who have a vested interest in the operational success of the school library program." MTAC advocates for the whole school library program. The role of MTAC "is to bring rich insight and help design more inclusive services."
