19/20 Expected Outcomes

A strong school library program develops partnerships with the community (families, caregivers, businesses, non-profit organizations, local government, experts in fields related to curriculum topics, etc.). These partnerships exist to support student learning, mentorship, community engagement, and library advocacy.

Expected Outcome #1 : Build Community Partnerships

The overall expected outcome is to continue the work from the previous year, building on family & community partnerships. As this was Ms. Aldridge's first year at DRMS, it was important for her to get to know the relationships that exist among the media center and the Durant community and leverage those to grow the students and citizens.

To achieve this outcome the school library media coordinator in conjunction with MTAC will:

• continue working with PTA to host an annual book fair.
• strengthen connections with our local book stores or public libraries through promoting and or hosting an author visit or literary event.
