Canvas vs PowerSchool

Canvas and PowerSchool are two tools used by WCPSS for two separate and distinct purposes. 

PowerSchool: Tracks attendance and grades of record for enrolled classes. This page also indicates to staff who are legal points of contact for students. Parents/Guardians must request access from the school data manager to gain access to PowerSchool.

Canvas: Learning Management System (LMS) to present assignments, assessments, and class information.  Utilization varies from teacher to teacher.  "Grades" in Canvas do not typically match PowerSchool.  Families must link an observer account to their student.

Grade Level Websites: Accessbile from the School Website.  Each grade level and Encore (magnet electives) have a designated page.  From there, teachers may link their own webpage for class information.  Families may need to request access from owning teacher to view.
