Welcome to 4th grade at Barton Pond Elementary. My name is Kellie Whitaker.  This will be my 21st year of teaching and my 4th year here at Barton Pond. 

I grew up in Oregon and graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I then moved to North Carolina in 2009 after completing my Master of Arts in Elementary Education. I began teaching in Granville County and started teaching in Wake County in 2022. North Carolina has become home for me! 

I have a daughter Hannah who is 29, she works at Duke University Hospital. My son Nicholas is 26 and he works as a lineman for Duke Energy. I am also a grammie to little McCoy who is 5 years old. He is precious and so smart! He definitely keeps my son and my daughter in law Loren very busy! 

When I’m not teaching I enjoy concerts, watching football (Go Oregon Ducks!), and going to the gym. I travel to Oregon to see my family as often as possible and I love the beach!
