Meet Ms. Nanni
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be teaching your child this year in 4th grade. I believe that all children are incredibly unique and can achieve greatness. I think it's important to create an environment where students feel safe, valued, and are willing to take risks with their learning. I truly love watching each student grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
This will be my 21st year of teaching! I have previously taught 4th grade at Hunter Elementary and then taught 2nd grade at Sycamore Creek Elementary for 15 years. I have been teaching 4th grade at Barton Pond most recently. I attended college in New York at SUNY Oneonta and hold a National Boards certification.
I moved to Raleigh from New York back in 2005, have three children and a dog. Marissa will be in 9th grade this year, Emma will be in 7th grade, and Demetri will be in 2nd grade at Barton Pond. We adopted Lucy, a yellow lab, from Saving Grace 7 years ago and she is the most incredible dog! In my free time I enjoy doing puzzles, spending time with my children, and playing and coaching soccer. Currently I coach both of my daughter’s NCFC challenge soccer teams. Obviously, I love to stay busy!
I am looking forward to a great year with your child at Barton Pond!
