Aboriginal Bark Paintings

Students studied the symbols of Aborigines from Australia. They learned that Aborigines (the original people of Australia) held the earth as sacred. Students learned the methods the Aborigines used and still use to create bark paintings. Third graders created their own "bark" paintings with paper bags, Q tips, and tempera paints.
