Hello! I’m the AIG teacher at Leesville Road Middle School, and I’m excited to be part of your learning journey!
This is my thirteenth year in education and my eighth year at Leesville. Before stepping into the AIG role, I taught 6th grade ELA at Leesville for five years, and prior to that, I spent nearly five years teaching in Miami-Dade County.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University (Go Noles!) and my Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Purdue University. I also earned both my Education Specialist (EdS) and Doctor of Education (EdD) degrees in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida. In addition, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State University, which has strengthened my work in instructional leadership and student advocacy.
In 2018, my family and I moved from sunny Miami to beautiful Raleigh, North Carolina. I’ve been married for thirteen years and have two amazing kids—an 11-year-old and a soon-to-be 9-year-old—along with a dog and two cats who definitely keep life interesting!
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, gardening, hiking, and cheering on my favorite teams—the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and Carolina Hurricanes. I’m also a big Disney fan and love visiting Disney World whenever I can.
I’m looking forward to an exciting year filled with curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences with all of you!
