About Me

Welcome to 2nd Grade! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year and look forward to seeing them SHINE! This will be my 4th year here at AFES, but  bring many years of teaching experience to the classroom.  I have taught kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.  I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Cortland  and a Master’s degree from Brooklyn College in Early Childhood Education.  I am originally from Long Island, New York.  I am married to my husband Scott and we have 2 children.  My son Ryan is a graduate of Appalachian State and lives and works in the Charlotte area. My daughter Madison is a graduate of East Carolina and is teaching abroad in Spain for the year.

My Favorites: visiting new places, relaxing at the beach, anything purple, snacking on pretzels and popcorn, enjoying  the fall season and cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes.
