ATHENS DRIVE

RETURN TO CAMPUS

TRANSITION TO PLAN A

STARTING APRIL 8, 2021

OVERVIEW

Athens Drive Magnet High School is committed to maintaining the health and safety of our students, staff, and families by adhering to state and district guidelines. As we transition to our Plan A Return to Campus, we will need to adjust previous processes and procedures. Please read through all procedures, including the Plan A Return-To-School Guidelines for Students and Families document found below, as they will be in place on Thursday, April 8th, the first day that students will return to the building under Plan A.

  • Athens Drive Magnet High School will operate on a new Bell Schedule beginning Thursday, April 8th, 2021. Students who are on campus for In-Person Learning will follow this Bell Schedule to the minute. Students who are Learning Remotely, your teachers may have you log in at various times during the course of the Period or you may be “live” during the entire period. Your teacher will communicate with you regarding the specific times for “live” instruction through your Google Meets.

  • The vast majority of student schedules will NOT change with the move to Plan A. We have been able to keep consistency with classes and teachers throughout the year and will not be making changes during this critical Fourth Quarter of the year.

  • We will operate our classes as we have been operating them while we have been in Plan B Cohort Rotations. Thus, classes will continue to be taught in a Blended Learning model with a combination of live instruction and asynchronous instruction during each class period.

  • Students and families had until the end of the day on Thursday, April 1st, 2021, to submit their intentions for the remainder of the Spring Semester. Students and families who did not make a change prior to this deadline are not able to move between Plan A In-Person Learning and our Virtual Academy.

  • Students who have enrolled in our Plan A In-Person Learning must attend school each day.

  • Students who are enrolled in our Virtual Academy need to access learning remotely each day.

  • Students are not allowed to be on campus during the school day if they are not enrolled in our Plan A In-Person Learning.

  • All entry/exit doors to the school will be closed and locked at all times. Any visitors must come to the Front Door and use the buzzer to receive assistance.

  • Please note that WCPSS updated the Second Semester Calendar to adjust two Workdays.
