Meet Ms. Pozoulakis!

Hello Carroll Families! I am so excited to share this year with you all! I absolutely love reading whether it's an actual book or an audiobook. I value the simple things in life, and I am grateful for the people in my life. I believe in treating everyone with respect and in building strong relationships with my students and our community.

My teaching career started in 2011. I earned my degree from East Carolina University. Go Pirates! I've previously taught 4th grade and 5th grade, but really love teaching 6th!

I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my dog, Max. I've recently gotten into DIY home improvement projects. I love being able to say, "Look! I did that!" Here at school, I serve as our Team Lead, ELA Department chair, Softball Coach, and am currently on several different committees.

How can you help at home?

  1. Students should be reading their iRead books every day. This is a book that they choose to read and that we track each day in class. Students are able to win prizes for participating in iRead! When they finish a book, they should complete: bit.ly/iReadabook

  2. Read to your student- It's so important to model reading whether it's a magazine, a book, a joke, a recipe, etc.

  3. Make sure students are studying vocabulary and practice work we do in class.

  4. Check Canvas with your student. Ask them to walk you through each class. Have them show you their grades and the feedback their teachers are writing.

  5. Help students be prompt and prepared each day. This looks like: having a charged laptop each day, getting a good night's sleep, showing up to school on time, completing homework/studying
