About Me – Mrs. Janice Lu
Hello! My name is Janice Lu, and I am so excited to get to know you and your child this year. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child grow, learn, and succeed in the classroom.
I hold a B.A. in English Literature from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master’s degree in Teaching from North Carolina State University. I began my career teaching middle school in Taiwan before coming to the United States to pursue my M.B.A. After working in marketing for Johnson & Johnson in Taiwan, I returned to the U.S., earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from NCSU, and joined the Wake County Public School System in 2014.
I live in Apex with my husband and our daughter, who is currently studying at UNC–Chapel Hill. Outside of school, I enjoy singing, dancing, and reading!
I believe every child is unique and deserves the very best education. My goal is to meet the needs of each student—academically, socially, and emotionally. I set high expectations because I know students can rise to meet them, and I believe learning should be engaging and joyful. In our classroom, your child will learn by doing, seeing, hearing, tasting, and trying new things through hands-on experiences and collaboration with peers.
I am honored to have been named Teacher of the Year at Olds Elementary (2019–2021), and I am committed to making this school year a memorable and successful one for your child.
I can’t wait to start this journey with you!
Please email me to schedule a time to meet if you have any questions!
