Students who qualify for a 504 Plan will continue to receive services upon arriving at EM3. Their grade level counselor will be your point person and will contact you in the fall to discuss adjustments or additional supports your student might need at the middle school level. Plans are reviewed yearly or as needed.
Students with IEPs will continue to receive services academic support and related services such as Speech, Occupational Therapy and special transportation as determined in their plan. Current WCPSS IEP students and their families will be invited to participate in a transition meeting prior to leaving elementary school. EM3 staff often participates in these discussions and helps to determine what courses best meet the students needs in addition to their other services.
Most students with IEPs at East Millbrook take ICR (in-class resource) courses. These are general education classes that are supported by a special education teacher every day. Self-contained Math and ELA classes as well as additional reading support are also available to these students. Please email kstolfi@wcpss.net for more information.
