Goldsboro Interact Club serves our communities, both external and internal. Goldsboro High School is our home, and we want all those who visit to see how well we care for those we impact daily. It’s important that we spread awareness to international causes and news, extend knowledge that we’ve gained, and build a solid foundation for international literacy and service projects.
This international event is observed annually on October 2nd. Mahatma Gandhi, a philanthropist, was the leader of the Indian Independence movement. Gandhi was a man of peace and practice strategies of non-violence. On this day in 2019, we held an event outside on the football field. Students, staff, faculty walked out in solidarity to stand against violence.
International Women’s Day is a day of equality where individuals challenge stereotypes, disarm bias, and improve the everyday lives of women. In 2018, club members discussed, developed, executed a craft program that recognized women that made an impact in our lives and recognized their achievements.
The Interact Club is one leadership and service above self. We pride ourselves on how to serve our communities and bring awareness to important subjects that affect the communities that we share with others. We seriously love what we do. Check out all the amazing projects that we’ve done over the years! Cheers to the opportunity to learn, grow and improve our communities together.
Club members partnered with the Goldsboro Chapter of Out Darkness Community Walks and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Members not only volunteered to make the event a success, but they participated in the walk. They walked the block of Beech St, Jackson St, Herman, and Ash St in solidarity with visual aids that spread messages of compassion, hope, and advocacy.
Club members partnered with UNC Wayne Health, for the Be King Her Women's Health Event. Members had a great opportunity to paint rocks with inspirational messages to uplift, encourage, and empower those who had been impacted by breast cancer.
In partnership with Wayne County United Way, club members collected traditional spaghetti ingredients to feed the less fortunate.
Club members helped the workers of Injoy unbox, separate, and fold items. This opportunity helped to smooth the workflow of the store, build bonds with visitors, and spread joy.
This opportunity is one of our most enjoyable projects. We travel to meet with students and help them read and assist teachers with minor projects. While we enjoy working on tasks and teaming up with students, we enjoy serving as mentors to help encourage learning, healthy relationships, and to make reading fun again.
A partnership with Wayne County Rotary Club, club members walked trails to bring awareness to Polio related issues.
