Introducing Career connected learning

Today's students are tomorrow's workforce—and Career Connected Learning (CCL) helps bridge the gap between education and employment.

Through Washington County Public Schools' Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and industry partnerships, students gain career awareness, hands-on experiences, workplace skills, and industry-recognized credentials that prepare them for success after graduation.

Starting in middle school, Career Connected Learning is integrated throughout students' educational journeys through career-related activities, classroom experiences, and opportunities to engage with local industries. These experiences help students explore career interests, develop professional skills, and make informed decisions about their future education and career pathways.

As students progress into their junior and senior years, eligible students may have opportunities to participate in Career Experience Pathways, connecting them directly with employer partners through internships, youth apprenticeships, and other work-based learning experiences.

Parents can feel confident knowing their students are gaining valuable skills and real-world experience, while employers have the opportunity to develop future talent and strengthen their workforce pipeline.
