Washington County Public Schools' Career Connected Learning (CCL) Internship Program provides employers with a unique opportunity to connect with motivated high school students while helping develop the future workforce.

Through employer-sponsored internships, students gain meaningful, hands-on experience in real workplace settings, allowing them to explore career interests, build professional skills, and apply classroom learning in an industry environment. In return, employers gain access to emerging talent, increase awareness of career opportunities within their organizations, and help shape the next generation of skilled workers.

CCL internships are designed to create mutually beneficial partnerships between education and industry. Participating employers provide structured work-based learning experiences, mentorship, and exposure to workplace expectations, while students earn high school credit through approved internship experiences.

Unlike state-level apprenticeship programs, the WCPS CCL Internship model allows employers to engage directly with local students through a flexible partnership process while maintaining high standards for student safety, supervision, and career development. All participating employers are vetted by WCPS and collaborate with school staff to ensure a successful experience for both students and businesses.
