ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME:

Addressing physical, perceptual, sensory, speech, language and hearing difficulties.

Therapists conduct screening and assessment to identify developmental barriers to learning. Support may include home programmes to address physical- (e.g. balance) perceptual- (e.g. letter and number reversal), sensory- (e.g. sensitivity to loud noises or bright light), speech, language and hearing difficulties, guidance to parents and teachers, as well as training sessions. A therapy coordinator per district may evaluate referred cases to determine the level of support needed.

Teachers play a key role in the development of learners. The resources in this section includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy and audiology techniques and programmes that can be implemented in the classroom.
Helping your child at home is vital for their development. These activities and programmes assist parents in setting up an optimal learning environment at home. It includes the importance of PLAY! The resources include visual and auditory perception, listening skills, homonyms, development of vocabulary, gross motor and fine motor skills and daily exercises.
Learners will find some fun worksheets to complete in this section.
This project aims to make public ordinary schools accessible for all learners; so that learners who have physical barriers to learning are able to access the curriculum.
This project aims to make the curriculum accessible to all learners, who have learning barriers, in public ordinary schools, by providing them with assistive devices.
